Marrakesch
Today you can stay in Marrakech in so-called riads, which means gardens. These are the former homes of wealthy merchants that have been converted into small but fine hotels. They are old city villas whose windows only open onto the inner courtyard, the patio. As a result, there is always the optimal climate there in high temperatures, not too hot゚ and not too cold. The riads are usually decorated with oriental cushions and carpets, mosaic floors and oriental ornaments. On the roofs are flowering gardens and roof terraces with views over the city. The riads are located around the medina. South of the medina is the quieter quarter. In the Mouassine quarter there are fountains and covered terraces.
